Yesterday, Portland; tomorrow, the world…

Wow am I tired.
I should be in Stamford right now, seeing Shiva, my old roommie in England. But it snowed, and it was expected to be a big storm, so I cancelled the rental car reservation and went back to bed.

Was quite tired, since I went to Maine with the band last night to get more footage. I shot three tapes between yesterday and today, course 90% is crap because I messed too much with the audio and the gain. But that’s why I’m shooting for Ry instead of for a corporate freelance gig where I’m not allowed to screw up. This afternoon some dudes came over (Ry’s) to “jam”, as they say, for a while. There were bongos, guitars, a viola, and when I wasn’t filming, I contributed my musical talents shaking the salt container. Fun. Fun!

A string of adjectives & nouns describing the past 24 hours: cold. heavy equipment. bathroom breaks. chocolate donuts. mean bouncer. girls. dancing. girls dancing. relaxed, i was very relaxed, or “chill”, as the kids say. i was “chilled out,” man. And then tired, and I designatedly drove the van til 4a trying not to sleep behind the wheel. Fortunately having four rowdy boys in the back helps keep you awake.

I like Maine, though. It’s like its own island where everyone wears LL Bean and EMS fleece and eats organic carrots and sleds til July, when it stops snowing. I can’t wait for July!

PS - tapioca is still down.
